Longford Gardaí probe criminal damage incident in Edgeworthstown

Last week, the Leader told of how fire crews put out a blaze that saw a car in a residential estate in Edgeworthstown go on fire shortly after midnight on October 1.

That sparked the onset of a garda investigation with the incident being treated as suspicious by detectives.

Less than a week on, gardaí are also now running the rule over a second, but separate incident of alleged criminal damage in the mid Longford town over the weekend.

It's understood that like te previous episode, last weekend's incident took place in a quiet residential estate.

“Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage to a vehicle in Edgeworthstown, County Longford on Sunday morning, 8th October 2023,”said a garda spokesperson.

“Enquires are ongoing at this time.”
