Longford Leaving Cert joy! Delighted principal confident very impressive young people will go out into the world and make a meaningful impact

Terrific results in Ballymahon Vocational school and Lanesboro Community College
As he extended congratulations to the Leaving Cert class of 2024 upon receipt of their results today, the principal of Ballymahon Vocational School Mick O’ Rourke said he had 'great confidence that this group of very impressive young people from Ballymahon VS will go out into the world and make a meaningful impact'.
Mr O'Rourke added, "I wish the class of 2024 every success as they get ready to open new and exciting chapters in their lives. They have the mental acumen, personal depth of character and a strong moral compass forged in their formative years here in south Longford to succeed. They will succeed and we look forward to watching their stars rise and shine brightly."
Mr O'Rourke said the 'tremendous results achieved' are very much the reflection of a close collaboration of work between all partners within the BVS community, 'the hard work of our students, the very fine teaching here in our school and the support of parents and guardians'.
He said the class of 2024 showed tremendous resilience, engagement and a wonderful attitude towards teaching and learning. "This group have been a pleasure for us here at Ballymahon Vocational School to get to know, support and nurture. They have brought us on an exciting journey these past 6 years and today we wish them a fond farewell."
Mr O'Rourke added, "Today our school motto 'Where the Individual Matters' comes to the fore as we see each individual student achieve their personal best, providing them with a launchpad to the next part of their adventure be that University, Training, Further Education or into the world of work.
"Over the years we have gotten to know each student very well and so it makes it all the more special to see their very fine results today allow them to start new adventures in the weeks and months ahead."
Lanesboro Community College principal Hazel Hannon also extended her heartiest congratulations to the class of 2024 who received such terrific results in their exams.
Ms Hannon spoke of how proud our school community is of each and every student and their success is a testament to the hard work and support of teachers, all staff, parents, the Board of Management and the wider school community.
She wished all the students the best of luck in their future endeavours and indeed LCC is proud to have them as part of our alumni community.
