Precious little change among the leading five contenders

Fianna Fáil’s third candidate in the Longford Westmeath General Election 2024 Dympna Cunniffe has become the fifth and latest candidate to be eliminated.

Following the completion of Count Four, she was sitting on 546 votes and her votes are to be distributed during Count Five at the Count Centre in TUS Athlone.

There are now fourteen candidates vying it out for the remaining four seats in the Longford Westmeath constituency.

Yet again there has been precious little change among the leading five contenders;

Micheál Carrigy, Fine Gael 7,238

Sorca Clarke, Sinn Féin 7,059

The next group behind this quintet comprises Paul Hogan (Independent Ireland) 2,993, Barry Campion (Sinn Féin) 2,364 and Gerry Warnock (Independent) 2,288.

The story so far;

ELECTED (quota 10,315)
