A Longford songwriter from the folk trio Amble will be on tour across Ireland.
The acclaimed contemporary folk musicians have just released their long-awaited EP and announced an Irish tour.
The trio, who appeared with Patrick Kielty on last Friday's The Late Late Show and performed perform Mariner Boy, is made up of Longford native Ross McNerney (formerly of Brave Giant), Oisin McCaffrey from Sligo and Robbie Cunningham from Leitrim.
Titled Of Land and Sea, the EP sees the band expand their sound to an ever-more global audience.
With a knack for storytelling, the Amble men all share their observations and stories, with a sound that combines both the old and the new.
With tender vocals, soothing melodies and the distinctive twankle of the Irish bouzouki, listening to Amble encapsulates the feeling of warming up by the fireplace of your favourite pub.
About a year ago, Oisin and Robbie started singing their own songs in Dublin venues. Shortly after, they were joined by Ross and it became evident he was the missing piece of the puzzle.
After a first gig in Manorhamilton before a football game, the trio knew their sound was “too good not to pursue”.
So far, Amble have garnered over 135k monthly Spotify listeners in only ten months and have sold out all of their shows, including an entire debut Irish tour. Their debut EP, Amble (Live) introduced a new musing, trad-tinged trio of songwriters to the Irish music scene.
2024 will be a year to remember for the trio as they will embark on a second Irish and UK tour in November.
