Longford's St Mel’s Musical Society announce 2024 production

The show to be staged for next year by St Mel’s Musical Society was announced last week.
The local artistic group took to social media to announce the details of the 2024 production, Legally Blond The Musical.
Last season's production by St Mel’s Musical Society, “Footloose”, featured a new director and an electric cast. The crew for the forthcoming production have yet to be decided.
Legally Blonde is a 2007 musical. It's based on the novel Legally Blonde by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film of the same name.
The show tells the story of Elle Woods, a sorority girl who enrols at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner.
She discovers how her knowledge of the law can help others, and she successfully defends exercise queen Brooke Wyndham in a murder trial.
Throughout the show, very few characters have faith in Elle, but she manages to surprise them when she defies expectations while staying true to herself.
St Mel’s MS was established over 40 years ago by a dynamic group of Longford natives who wanted to bring the arts to the community in an amateur capacity. Since then they have grown in size, have moved from the Temperance Hall, to Backstage and most recently to St Mel's college. They have won quite a few accolades over the years.
St Mel's Musical Society will host workshops and auditions soon, with details of the exact dates to be relayed on their social media channels.
