Congratulations to Áine Matthews, daughter of Josephine and Martin, Culleenmore, and Dave Horan, son of Kay and Kieran, Birr, Co Offaly, who were joined in Holy Matrimony last Friday in St Columba’s Church with the ceremony celebrated by Fr Simon Cadam and Fr Michael Bannon.

Catherine Matthews, Christina Matthews, Laura Caulfield, and Noreen Cassidy were the bridesmaids, while Robert Lynch was best man, assisted by Gavin Young, Conor Daly, and Damien McCormack.

Áine’s niece Maggie was flower girl and her cousin Maria Matthews provided the music on the day.

After the ceremony, the wedding party travelled to Crover House Hotel where the guests enjoyed the magnificent views of Lough Sheelin and then sat down to a beautiful meal served by the ever-efficient staff.

There was comedic entertainment before the speeches from the bride’s father, the groom’s parents, and the witty best man who was able to regale the crowd with anecdotes about how the couple met through their mutual interest in rugby and a signed jersey from the 2018 Mullinalaghta team was presented to the happy couple.

Dancing and music was then provided by Ball and Chain and continued until the early hours with a great night had by all.

Áine and Dave would like to thank all the guests for their presence at their nuptials and we all wish them well for future happiness in their new home in Dublin.
