Man arrested on suspicion of Cavan murder released as foul play is no longer suspected
Gardaí have said this evening that a man in his 30s who was arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a body at a domestic residence in Blacklion, County Cavan yesterday, March 9, has been released and no longer suspected of any criminality.
In a statement, the Garda Press office outlined, "The post-mortem examination has been completed in this case.
"An Garda Síochána does not comment on the specific results of post mortem examinations for operational reasons.
"However, as a result of preliminary results provided to An Garda Síochána, foul play is no longer suspected in this incident.
"The male in his 30s who was detained at Castlerea Garda Station has been released from that detention and is no longer suspected of any criminality in this incident.
"An Garda Síochána continue to investigate this matter for the preparation of a coroner inquest file only."
