Man bailed over alleged car ramming in Longford estate that left man in hospital

This is the man who has been charged in connection to an alleged car ramming incident in Longford town last month that left another man in hospital.
Tommy McGinley (41) of 10 Palace Drive, Ardnacassa, Co Longford appeared at a sitting of Longford District Court today (Tuesday) charged with dangerous driving at Legion Terrace, Longford on September 16.
The alleged victim was taken to Tullamore's Midland Regional Hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
Mr McGinley, who was arrested and charged last night over the alleged incident, stood quietly in the custody suite of the court as details relating to the case were read out before presiding Judge Miriam Walsh.
Sgt Enda Daly, for the State, said there were no objections to bail in view of the fact directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) were still awaited.
As such, Sgt Daly said the prosecution would not be opposing bail subject to certain conditions.
They included directions for Mr McGinley to sign on three times a week, not to contact any witness relating to the case either directly or indirectly, including via social media and to refrain from driving an MPV.
In defence, solicitor Fiona Baxter applied for a short adjournment in order to "progress matters" as expeditiously as possible owing to the strict bail terms her client was confined to.
Mr McGinley was remanded on bail to a sitting of Longford District Court on November 21.
