A man has appeared at Longford District Court, charged with threatening to kill a woman during an alleged assault at The Mall in Longford town last August.

Michal Godla (34), of 1 Annaly Court, Longford, appeared before Judge Bernadette Owens last Tuesday, following his arrest, charge and caution that morning by Detective Garda Orla Geraghty.

Mr Godla, who appeared previously charged with assault causing harm to the woman, made no reply to the new charge, and DPP directions are for trial on indictment on both charges.

Mr Godla was remanded on continuing bail to June 4, 2024, when a book of evidence is expected to be served.
