Longford families enjoy an exceedingly frightful time at Lisryan’s annual Halloween Kids Party and Pumpkin Carving Competition

There were some spookily spectacular costumes and exceptional pumpkin carving creations as Murphy’s Crossroads Inn was transformed into a witches coven with spiders, bones and cobwebs galore.

Lisryan’s annual Halloween Kids Party and Pumpkin Carving Competition on Monday, October 26 proved to be a huge success with everyone enjoying traditional Halloween games and a sing-along.

The event is organised by the Lisryan Tidy Village and District Development committee.

A huge word of thanks to everyone who makes the event an occasion which the community as a whole looks forward to. There were plenty of treats and goodies thanks to fantastic local bakers, Faustina Rogers and Claire Anderson.

Special thanks to Linda Heffernan and Karen Holly who looked after everyone at the hospitality counter and who also judged the Pumpkin Carving Competition with 35 entries, 3 categories, Scariest, Funniest and Most Creative.

Each and every entrant should be extremely proud of their creations. The winners were, Abbie Creegan (Most Creative), Fiadh and Siadbh Smyth (Scariest) and Callum Doris (Funniest).

The next big event in Lisryan, Co Longford is the annual Santa Dash which takes place on Sunday, December 6 from 4pm – 7pm.
