Road disappears! Drivers urged to avoid road where a substantial part has been torn away #StormÉowyn

Roots from a tree which fell during Storm Éowyn have left a large hole in the road
Drivers have been urged to take care, particularly close to Mohill where a large fallen tree has caused significant road damage.
The root of a large fallen tree on the Rinn Road in Mohill has torn away a substantial part of the road and caused significant damage.
Motorists are advised to be cautious as a large hole remains on the side of the road, after Storm Éowyn wreaked havoc around Leitrim and across the country.
"Our Fire Service crews in Mohill and Ballinamore are now deployed and on route to clear reported issues/fallen trees, in their respective areas. Crews on route to N4 and R201," Leitrim Co Council confirmed on Friday afternoon.
"We have received multiple reports of trees down and debris on roads right across the county. Many minor or local roads are impassable or blocked. Please avoid travel on these roads," a council spokesperson said.
"Exercise extreme care and caution if out on the roads as there is a lot of debris on roads. We are working through a significant number of calls. It will take us some time to clear all routes. Please bear with us as we deploy our resources to deal with the impact of what has been a significant storm," the spokesperson added.
