'They come from everywhere': Excitement ahead of Longford's annual Lakeland show today

The Lakeland Vintage Club annual show returns on Sunday, May 10 in Ballymahon
There is huge excitement head of the Lakeland Vintage Club’s annual vintage show and family day today at Creevaghbeg in Ballymahon (N39 E2V5).
The much-anticipated event promises a full day of classic machinery, entertainment and family-friendly fun for all ages.
Younger people are being encouraged to come along with future classics, while some pre-war cars are expected to be on display too.

Speaking ahead of the event, Lakeland Vintage Club PRO Michael Lynch outlined what attendees can look forward to.
“We're celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Ferguson 20 and the 70th anniversary of the Ferguson 25, so we're encouraging people to bring along their Ferguson tractors on the day. We're going to have a section for that,” Michael explained.
He adds, “We're also encouraging younger people to come along with future classics, which would be eighties and nineties cars. Younger people are very interested in that so we're going to have a separate area for them to come."
"We’re expecting some pre-war cars too as we have quite a collection of them in the county."
"People come from all over Ireland too. The show attracts them from everywhere really. We tend to get a good turnout for that every year.”
Michael adds that people interested in bringing their vintage tractor or future classic do not need to register in advance and can simply turn up on the day.
In addition to an impressive display of vintage vehicles, there will be a variety of stalls for attendees to shop and enjoy.
