“The idea of the colour run is that it is a fun day for both service users and staff"

The annual St Christopher’s colour run took place on Thursday morning of last week.

The event was held in the Mall and is now in its third year, it has become an established part of the calendar for both service users and staff of the centre.

The colour run was organised by Michelle Brady, who is the PE teacher in the centre.

“The idea of the colour run is that it is a fun day for both service users and staff of St. Christopher’s. There is no charge or no fundraising element to it,” Michelle stated.

There were over 100 service users and staff involved in the event this year: “The basic idea is that the participants throw colour on each other and do a lap of the Mall. We then go back to the centre where there is a barbecue and other activities,” she explained.

“It's an end of year event,” Michelle added.

Michelle has been Recreation Officer in St Christopher’s for the past seven years.

The Mall Complex is used regularly by St. Christopher’s: “We use the Mall regularly for sport. The service users are involved in a lot of sports activities. We work with the Sports Partnership of the council on sports,” Michelle explained.
