Trial date set for man accused of carrying out Longford town discount store robbery

A man in his 30s accused of carrying out a robbery at a discount store in Longford town will return before the circuit court in November for trial.
John Robertson (32) of no fixed abode appeared via video link in connection with an alleged robbery at Supersavers, Mastertech Business Park, Longford on August 14, 2022. The prosecution relates to the alleged theft of €630 in cash.
Solicitor Fiona Baxter informed Judge Kenneth Connolly that she was coming off record as the defendant wished to change his legal representative. Mr Robertson informed the court he wished to be represented by Michael Finnucane solicitors.
As the new solicitor was not in court Judge Connolly adjourned the matter to November 5. Mr Robertson was remanded in custody to November 5 for trial.
