Aldi announces more details for second store coming to Tullamore
The supermarket giant has confirmed that it has planning permission to open the store. It will be located on the former Texas site in the centre of Tullamore.
A spokesperon said “The new store will see the creation of 30 new permanent jobs in the town, while up to 50 jobs will be supported during the construction period.
“The plans include a 1,644 square metre retail store (to include off license use).
“Every new Aldi store brings greater choice, quality and value to shoppers, while creating important well-paid jobs in the community. We look forward to developing and opening the store, and bringing unbeatable Aldi value to even more people in Tullamore,'' a statement said.
Aldi recently received planning approval to construct an ESB substation at Offaly Street in Tullamore. Work began on the Texas site last May.
Aldi's first store in Tullamore is located in River View Park, outside the town.
