A MAN failed to appear in court last Wednesday for service of the book of evidence.

Lee Fennelly, (33) The Sycamores, Edenderry, is charged with having 720 counterfeit notes in his possession.

The notes were in the following denominations, 246 in 50s 199 in 20s and 275 in denominations of 10s, which the accused ''knew or believed to be counterfeit of a currency note.''

The incident is alleged to have happened at Fr Paul Murphy Street, Edenderry on December 2, 2023

Sergeant Richard Thornton said the book of evidence was ready to be served on the defendant and made an application for a bench warrant.

Judge Andrew Cody made the order.
