Class of '73 reunite in Tullamore Court Hotel

Past pupils of the Convent of Mercy Moate attended a school reunion on Saturday June 25, in the Tullamore Court Hotel to celebrate 50 years since leaving school.

The event was organised by Marguerite (Loughnane) Madden from Clara but now living in Tullamore who was a past pupil of the school and Mary (Owens) Mulvehill another past pupil.

Some of the ladies hadn’t met since leaving school so Marguerite said, ''there was a palpable air of excitement along with gasps and shrieks of laughter and delight as names were guessed and divulged during the “Meet and Greet” portion of the event.''

Afterwards the ladies enjoyed a delicious meal followed by more chat where memories of the annual opera, midnight feasts, teachers, nuns, feis ceoil, listening to records on the radiogram etc. were exchanged. All present agreed that it was a highly enjoyable night.
