THERE was massive work taking place last week as Rathcabbin Tidy Towns were out in force and have been very busy over the last few months with two big projects just completed in the last week.

There are now beautiful hanging baskets, planted with pollinator friendly plants, on the entrance road into the village. A big thank you to Denis Duffy who made and erected the poles for this project.

A bee and butterfly friendly bed filled with 80 plants is now coming into bloom in the centre of the village for all to enjoy. A big thank you also to Eoghan Kennedy, Paddy Burke, Liam Dermody and Ciaran Young for their help in making this happen.

Thanks also to members of the committee who are out and about in the village, cleaning, sowing, painting and sweeping. They meet every Thursday evening at 7pm, so do please come along and help when possible.

They have other projects that they would love to undertake and with that in mind they are holding a coffee morning in Rathcabbin Hall on Sunday June 4th from 10.30am to 1.30pm. There will be a bake sale and plant sale with all proceeds going back into the village. Do please come along and have a cuppa with a slice of cake and a chat with the neighbours. While you are there, pick up a dessert for later and purchase a plant for your garden. If you can’t attend and you would like to support you can do so on I donate.
