Date and time confirmed for Offaly's Tailteann Cup game with New York
The date and time have been confirmed for Offaly's Tailteann Cup game with New York.
With the Offaly Minor Footballers facing Mayo in an All-Ireland quarter-final on Sunday at 3pm in Dr Hyde Park in Roscommon, the Tailteann Cup game was always likely to be fixed for Saturday and that has turned out to be the case.
Offaly will welcome New York to Glenisk O'Connor Park on Saturday for a game that will throw in at 2pm.
Offaly ended up in the Preliminary quarter-finals after a late Laois goal from a penalty in Newbridge last Saturday allowed Wicklow to top the group on score difference. Had Offaly topped the group, they would have received a by through this round.
New York only enter the competition at this stage. They exited the Connacht Championship in the first round losing 0-20 to 3-28 to Galway in Gaelic Park in New York. They played Laois in the knock-out stages last year and only lost out by 1-13 to 1-9.
