Drug supply charges against Offaly men adjourned

DRUGS charges have been brought against two men alleging they were in possession of cannabis in Kilcormac.
John Paul Colbert (19), 2 Bridge Street, Kilcormac, is accused of having the drug for sale or supply at that address on October 27 last. Damian Gilmore (43), of the same address, is similarly charged.
Sergeant James O'Sullivan sought a lengthy adjournment in the case of Mr Colbert because a certificate is awaited from the forensic science laboratory.
Judge Andrew Cody adjourned the charges against Mr Colbert to May 24 next year.
Patrick Martin, solicitor, appeared for Mr Colbert and his client was granted legal aid.
When Mr Gilmore's case was called, Sergeant O'Sullivan said the approximate value of the suspected drugs was €2,200.
Donal Farrelly, solicitor for Mr Gilmore, sought an adjournment to January and Judge Cody adjourned the prosecution to January 13, when either a plea will be entered or a date will be fixed for a hearing.
Mr Gilmore was also granted legal aid. Mr Farrelly said his client was an unemployed father of four.
