Gardai appeal for information on car after two daytime burglaries in Offaly

Gardai are appealing for information after burglaries took place in Birr during the day on Thursday May 25.

Two residential properties were broken into when the owners weren't at home.

Between 10.30am to 11am the front door of a house in Seffin was forced open and a small amount of cash was stolen.

A Garda spokesperson said a black VW car was in the area at the time, with a partial reg of 151 MH, with three males in the vehicle.

“We think this vehicle might be connected to the burglary,” said the spokesperson. “If anyone has any information about it or saw anything suspicious please contact us.”

The same day, during working hours, a home was broken into in Elmgrove and a quantity of jewellery was stolen.

If you saw any suspicious activity or can help in any way with either of these crimes please call Birr Garda Station at 05791 20016.
