Over 300 attended

The old Irish tradition of Dancing at the Crossroads came alive once again as more than 300 people gathered at Lismoyny Cross, Clara for the 2025 Dancing at the Crossroads Festival, organised by the Clara Heritage Society.

Grannies, grandads, teenagers, toddlers, musicians, and skilled dancers all joined together in a vibrant celebration of Irish culture and community spirit. The festival’s music was led by Rahan Comhaltas, whose lively traditional tunes kept the crowd on their feet, with delightful solo performances from younger members. An early performance by Ross (guitar) and John (saxophone) set the tone for the evening, with attendees waltzing to their melodies.

The night featured heartfelt singing by Fr. Joe Deegan, Sean Kennedy, and Ray Henry, while Siorash Fleming moved the audience to silence with her stunning rendition of Grace. Champion dancers Rosie & Mathew brought the house down with a breathtaking brush dance and their own dazzling interpretation of Riverdance. When they invited local children onto the stage to dance with them, the atmosphere was electric, a magical moment that captured the heart of the festival.

Food and Community Spirit

Festival goers enjoyed delicious refreshments provided by The Coffee Hut, along with homemade buns baked by locals and food kindly supplied by St. Vincent de Paul. Everything was snapped up in minutes, a testament to the appetite and enthusiasm of the crowd.
