There was heartbreak for the Offaly senior footballers and their supporters in Newbridge on Saturday evening as their late fightback against Kildare came up agonisingly short. Seven points in the second half, Offaly rallied and got the defecit down to a single point. In the final minute of injury time Cillian Bourke took on a two point shot on but his effort drifted just to the left and wide leaving Kildare with the slenderest of wins at 1-17 to 0-19.
