It's official! The votes are in and you have chosen the Worst Road in Offaly

Over recent weeks we have had a number of stories of motorists coming to grief on roads in Offaly and such was the volume of roads highlighted to us, we decided to run a public vote to find the worst road in the county. 

We had over 8,000 votes cast in our poll and when all was said and done, we ended up with a clear winner. 

Not that it's much consolation for the people who live on the road but, based on the public vote, the worst road in Offaly is the back road from Croghan to Daingean which received 29% of the votes. 

We will now risk our suspensions and our tyres and take a trip to drive the road later this week. Keep an eye out to see how we get on!

In second place in the voting was the road from Rhode to Rochfortbridge. 

Making it a clean sweep on the podium of shame for roads in North Offaly, the Daingean to Tyrellspass Road came third in the voting. 

Fourth and fifth were both roads in the south of the county with Kinnitty to Roscrea coming fourth and Taylors Cross to Cloghan coming fifth.
