Large scale residential development planned for Tullamore

A large scale residential development is being proposed for Tullamore.

Collins Lane Housing Development Ltd, intend to make a planning application for permission to build 126 residential units.

If granted permission the units will be located on Collins Lane and will comprise of 102 houses, 24 apartments and a childcare facility/crèche.

The houses will be arranged as 7 two-storey detached houses and will be a mix of three, four and five bedroom houses. 21 will be two-storey terraced houses, and 24 will be three storey semi-detached houses.

The apartments are arranged as two-storey units with own-door access and will have bin, recycling stores and bicycle shelters.

Access for vehicles is proposed to be provided off the existing roundabouts on the north south link road between Collins Lane and the Educate Together school, one by the continuation of the existing road serving the Jehovah Witness Hall site, and one by a new roadway from the central roundabout through the neighbourhood centre zoned site.

A new vehicular entrance serving the development is also proposed off the R443 Collins Lane.

An internal link road is proposed to The Hawthorns housing estate to the north of the site.

Public space serving the development including amenity/play areas, landscaping, pedestrian, cycle facilities and landscaping along the R443 will also take place as part of the proposal.
