Man charged with theft of diesel and damaging property in Offaly

A MAN, who is in custody in Cloverhill prison, is charged with theft and criminal damage.

Mantas Demeikis, 192, The Sycamores, Edenderry, is charged with stealing €600 worth of diesel the property of Ion Andreico on the Dublin Road, Edenderry, on dates unknown between December 5, 2022 and December 6, 2022.

He is also charged with damaging machinery the property of the same man to the value of €2,700 intending to damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property was damaged.

The case was adjourned for disclosure of information to his solicitors along with CCTV footage to February 28 next at 10.30am at last week's district court.

Mr Demeikis was remanded on continuing bail until then. Judge Andrew Cody said he would reserve legal aid subject to a statement of means.
