Tullamore District Court heard drugs accused is in nursing home

A MAN accused of having cannabis for sale or supply to others is currently in a nursing home, Tullamore District Court was told.

Ronnie Hughes (66), Kilbride Park, Tullamore, allegedly had the drug at a residence in Kilbride Park on September 8 last.

Sergeant James O'Sullivan sought a three-month adjournment so that a certificate of analysis of the suspected drug could be obtained from the forensic science laboratory.

Mr Hughes' solicitor, Donal Farrelly, consented to the adjournment, saying his client was in a nursing home and could be there for a long time.

Judge Andrew Cody remanded the man on bail to appear in court again on July 5 next.
