Man who parked dangerously in Offaly found hiding in a ditch

A MAN who hid in a ditch was facing a summons for dangerous parking at a recent sitting of the district court.

In his evidence Garda Power said that Guntis Gorskovs, (61) of Drumcooley, Edenderry, had produced his driving licence and insurance and the only summons against him was dangerous parking on Main Street, Cloncannon, Edenderry.

Mr Gorskovs pleaded guilty to the offence. He had three previous road traffic offences.

Judge Andew Cody asked the defendant why he was hiding in a ditch and he said the road was slippery.

Mr Gorskovs works as a mechanic. Judge Cody fined him €250
