Modular units needed to cope with overcrowding at Offaly primary school
Deputy John Clendennen uses maiden Dail speech to highlight need at Charleville NS in Tullamore
TWO modular units approved for a school in Tullamore need to be erected as soon as soon possible.
In his maiden address to Dail Eireann as a new TD, Deputy John Clendennen said he knew at "first hand" the pressures of over crowding at the Charleville National School in Tullamore.
In a question to the Minister for Education, Helen McEntee he asked the two modular units be prioritised and erected over the summer.
Charleville NS is only one of two primary schools on the Church Road/ Cloncollig side of Tullamore and it has seen a steady increase in enrolments over the past number of years.
There are currently 173 students in the school which has been seeking additional accommodation since 2022.
