No foul play suspected as man found dead in the Midlands

Gardaí don't believe foul play is suspected into the discovery of a man's body in the Midlands today

The discovery was made shortly after 3pm in the Barrack Street area of Granard in Longford after emergency services responded to reports of an unconscious male having been found in the area.

The man is believed to have been pronounced dead at the scene with his body being removed to Mullingar Hospital's mortuary ahead of a postmortem.

It is understood that the discovery was made close to a vacant shopping centre in the town.
