Tullamore District Court hears 28-year-old from Edenderry is on bail and prosecution put back to November

AN Edenderry man has been prosecuted at Tullamore District Court for public order offences.

Darren Hurst (28), 134 Greenwood Park, Edenderry, is accused of public drunkenness and engaging in threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour at Blundell Wood, Edenderry on September 28 last.

David Nugent, BL, appeared for Mr Hurst when the charge brought by Garda David Connaughton came before Judge Andrew Cody.

Mr Nugent, who was instructed by Marc Bairead, solicitor, said he had received a summary of the prosecution case and added that the accused was in rehabilitation services and an adjournment was sought because Mr Hurst had to deal with certain issues.

Judge Cody remanded the accused on continuing bail to appear in court on November 11 next when either a plea will be entered or a date will be fixed for a hearing.

The judge said that if a hearing is required, it will take place on December 21.
