Dunne stepped into ring at nine days' notice

TULLAMORE mixed martial artist Shane Dunne proved once again why he’s one to watch on the Irish fight scene. With just nine days’ notice, Dunne stepped up to compete at the IUR Championships in Newry on Sunday—and walked away with both the victory and the bantamweight title.

The win marks an incredible milestone for the young fighter, who has now secured three titles this year alone in two different weight divisions.

Dunne began his journey at Éire Grapple in Tullamore entering the sport through the club’s youth programme, Growing Gorillas; under the guidance of Head coach Kieran Davern and his coaching team. He has since developed into one of many rising talents to emerge from the gym, which has become known as a powerhouse for producing high-level fighters on the national stage.

With three titles already in the bag, Dunne’s trajectory shows no signs of slowing. His latest victory adds to a growing list of achievements that mark him as one of the most exciting prospects in Irish MMA.
