Offaly motorist receives driving ban for driving with bald tyres

A MOTORIST was disqualified for six months for driving with two bald tyres at last week's district court.

Martin Cawley, (27) Apartment 1, over Eclipse Hair Salon, Tullamore was stopped by Garda Trevor Mullins on July 9, 2022. 

The two rear tyres of the vehicle were bald. Fines that were issued remain unpaid.

Mr Cawley had 17 previous convictions for road traffic offences. His last was for holding a mobile phone and he was disqualified for three months.

Judge Andrew Cody fined the defendant €250 for each of the bald tyres and disqualified him from driving for six months.
