Offaly’s Rose Allie Leahy is hosting a Summer Fashion Show fundraiser this Saturday, July 29 in Dooly’s Hotel Birr in partnership with Offaly Hospice.

The event will raise money and awareness for Offaly Hospice and support the ongoing Rose campaign for the Offaly hopeful.

The event promises a fun night filled with entertainment and fashion from local shops and boutiques around Offaly with female, male and child models walking the catwalk, including some familiar faces from the Offaly hurling team.

Speaking ahead of the event, Allie said, “It’s been a dream come true to be selected as the Offaly Rose and a wonderful experience of events and opportunities to meet some of the most amazing people along the way. Only recently I judged a lovely fashion show in Birr CNU and met with children from my old primary schools in Rath and Kinnitty and now I get to partner with Offaly Hospice to raise funds and awareness as part of the summer fashion show. We are very excited for the event which we promise will have everything you need for a super night out with friends and family.”

The event will kick off with a Prosecco and canapés reception, followed by a fashion extravaganza showcasing the finest style from supporting shops and boutiques including; The Stables Birr, Kode Tullamore, Galvin’s Tullamore, Larkins Birr, Guy Clothing Tullamore, Sally West, Vero Moda, Offaly Hospice Charity Store and Elverys Sport. MCs for the night include Offaly’s legendary Rock on Paddy and Bridget Dooley and DJ Shane Reynolds will be on the decks with all the favourite floor filling tunes.

Allie will take the stage at the Dome in Kerry on either August 21 or August 22.

Allie is nervous but excited for Tralee. She said “I’m so excited to represent Offaly and the beautiful village of Kinnitty. I applied to become the Offaly Rose because I really believe it provides a positive platform to celebrate amazing women. I have met so many great girls on the selection journey so far that all are using the opportunity for positivity and giving something back. That is something I am passionate about particularly as an underage coach in Kinnitty, I get the opportunity to work with great young girls and I like to think I can maybe play a small part in influencing them to be courageous and confident in all their endeavours in life.”

Mary Murphy from Offaly Hospice said, "We are thrilled to support Allie as Offaly’s Rose and grateful for this opportunity to raise awareness and funds for Offaly Hospice. Our campaign to raise vital funds for the first inpatient palliative care hospice for Offaly and the Midlands is at a crucial point following the recent government funding commitment.  We need as a community to get behind this important and much needed development in our hospice service.
