Offaly sisters run historic Olympic "Marathon Pour Tous"

Sisters Danielle and Laura Scally from Tullamore have completed the historic Paris 2024 "Marathon Pour Tous", the first public race in the history of the Olympic Games. Places for the event were hard won by the sisters who completed a large number of challenges from 2022-2024 to win their spots.
Held on the penultimate day of the Olympics, the Marathon Pour Tous (Marathon for All) offered amateur runners a once in a lifetime opportunity to follow in the fresh footsteps of their Olympic heroes on the same course the top athletes had just run on, with the course taking place on the streets of Paris and Versailles.
Danielle was one of 20,024 runners who took part in the marathon, while Laura was one of the 20,024 runners who took part in a 10km race.
The sisters are no strangers to running Olympic marathon routes. Danielle and Laura ran the historic Greek Marathon from the town of Marathon to Athens, the route and namesake of the very first marathon.
Danielle is currently training for this year's Dublin marathon which will be her fourth marathon, and we wish her the very best!
