She pleaded guilty to intoxication, engaging in threatening behaviour and failing to give a name and address to a Garda

An Offaly woman was sentenced to three months imprisonment during last week's Tullamore Court.

Linda O'Connor,  34 Silverdale, Clara pleaded guilty to intoxication, engaging in threatening behaviour and failing to give a name and address to a Garda on Church Street, Clara on May 5, 2024.

Sergeant Richard Thornton said the defendant was verbally abusive to the Garda trying to get her name and address. He said she had several previous convictions for public order offences.

Paul Noctor, Barrister, told the court that Ms O'Connor has an alcohol addiction problem.

The defendant told Judge Andrew Cody that she is “struggling. I need help. I need a break.”

“The Gardaí also need a break from you and your behaviour,” commented the Judge.

He sentenced her to three months imprisonment.
