Offaly woman put off the road for three years for drink driving

A WOMAN, who works as a carer, was put off the road for three years when she appeared on a summons for drink driving at last week's district court.
Bridget Moran (58), Down, Rhode, Croghan, Tullamore, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving while exceeding the alcohol limit.
Judge Andrew Cody asked Ms Moran if she wanted a solicitor but she replied no.
In his evidence Sergeant Brendan Kearns said that on June 19, 2023, Ms Moran was involved in a road traffic accident in The Square, Main Street, Daingean. She was slurring her words and was arrested.
A urine test revealed a reading of 259 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of urine.
She didn't know how the accident happened. She had crashed into another vehicle when she went to move her car. She had no previous convictions.
Judge Andrew Cody struck out the offence of dangerous driving and disqualified her for three years. In addition he fined her €200.
