Over €9-million has been secured for Tipperary's road network.

Tipperary TDs Michael Lowry and Fianna Fáil's Ryan O'Meara have welcomed the allocation of €9,026,243 for Tipperary's roads.

The allocation comes as part of a package of €633-million for national roads, announced today by the Minister for Transport, Darragh O’Brien.

Today’s funding is an increase of €92 million compared to 2024, while funding for roads under the current National Development Plan will continue to increase for the remainder of the decade.

"Tipperary has a significant network of national roads traversing the county. I welcome the news that this funding will help ensure that our Local Authority will have monies required to carry out the ongoing improvements and maintenance necessary to keep these roads up to the standard required for safe travel", Deputy Michael Lowry said.

“I am delighted to see over €9-million worth of funding allocated for roads across Tipperary announced today by my party colleague.," Deputy Ryan O'Meara said.

Included in the works will be the N65 Carrigahorig Village Pavement Scheme at €150,000; the N62 Turtella Cross in Thurles at €45,000; the N62 Liberty Square Thurles renewal will get €300,000; the N62 repair in Roscrea will get €45,000 and the N52 in Ballingarry receives €20,000.

Deputy O'Meara added: “Road safety is of paramount importance. This significant funding will enable greater connectivity, upgrading and maintaining of our national roads, and will allow new road projects to begin.
