Parkrun in Offaly celebrates significant milestone

Participants and volunteers attended Mountlucas Parkrun to celebrate its 250th event on Saturday last, December 2.

It was a cold and frosty morning but that didn't stop the celebratory atmosphere. Proud sponsor of Mountlucas parkrun, Bord na Móna, provided hot breakfast treats for all who attended this milestone event and it was a very welcome addition to ward off the cold.

It certainly was a day for celebrations as parkrun regulars, Kevin Curran, Sam Neary and Gareth Madden, each celebrated their 100th parkrun. As well as being regular parkrunners, all three are also regular volunteers at Mountlucas parkrun so are a special part of the Mountlucas parkrun community.

Mountlucas parkrun held it's first event in July 2017 and has gone from strength to strength since then. It is well known for it's flat course, beautiful scenery and welcoming atmosphere.
