A magical occasion took place at Market Square in Roscrea recently when the official lighting of the town's Chrismas decorations took place around the first Christmas Tree on the newly renovated Square.
The tree also has a depper aspect and is a 'remembrance tree' where people from the town who are no longer alive are poignantly recalled on handwritten notes pinned to its' branches.
Santa himself also made an appearance and met all the children present, handing out selection boxes to each child.
