Tullamore Camera Club revealed the spectacular photos from the May and June editions of their monthly competition at their most recent meeting on Thursday, June 25.
The photography club were delighted to welcome Terry Conroy from Portlaoise Camera Club, who has an Irish Photographic Federation Licentiateship, to deliver a very interesting and informative presentation on landscape photography at their June meeting.
Terry also served as a guest judge for the June competition as a host of stunning photos were recognised centered around a theme of "negative space".
For June, Marie Kearns took home the first prize with her colourful capture of a hot air balloon in Marrakesh. Runner up on the night was Emil Cohrt with his dramatic shot of a boat taken in Croatia and Terry chose Cliff Webb's sublime Moroccan desert photo as his winning shot.
Winners of the May competition were also chosen on the night as members were tasked with a theme of "vintage". Nuala Lynch won both the member's vote and that of guest judge, Pat McKeon, photography tutor with Moate Business School, with her fantastic black and white image of a blacksmith at work in Muckross House.
Another black and white photograph was runner up, taken by Seán Hayes, appropriately of a retro film camera.
Tullamore Camera Club usually meets on the last Thursday of each month in the Offaly History Centre. Their next meeting takes place on Thursday July 30 at 8pm.
New members are always welcome as no experience is required.
