13 – Dan Ravenhill - Dan Ravenhill had one of those afternoons that can happen every player, particularly young emerging ones but it was a difficult game for Offaly for as a unit for 55 minutes and it was very much a collective thing. He was replaced in the 41st minute. Rating – 6.

14 – Charlie Mitchell - The Offaly forward line found the going very tough until the closing quarter and Charlie Mitchell didn't fire on all cylinders. There wasn't much ball going in and when it did, the forwards were tightly marked. He had his moments and got one point before being replaced in the 56th minute. Rating – 6.

15 – Brian Duignan - You had to admire Brian Duignan and the character he showed. He has emerged into one of Offaly's most important players and his work rate was high, even when things were unravelling for them. He got Offaly's first point in their first attack and was hungry for the ball. Waterford were so on top for so long that there wasn't much possession going into the full forward line for long periods but Duignan continued to work. He was brilliant in the closing quarter, didn't get a blatant penalty when his hurl was held and scored five of his 12 points from play. You couldn't ask for much more than that and he was Offaly's best player. Rating – 9.

Subs: David King - David King made one mistake when giving the ball away for a late Waterford point but apart from that, he showed his experience and was a steadying influence when introduced. Rating – 7. Eoghan Cahill -Eoghan Cahill got a good point in his first possession, showing how good of an opportunist he is. He got on in the 41st minute and showed well for the ball. Rating – 6. Jack Clancy - Jack Clancy gave Offaly a physical presence when he on and worked hard, putting in the hard yards and big hits. Rating – 6. Patrick Taaffe - It was good to see Patrick Taaffe get a game and he has plenty of potential. He came on in the 52nd minute at a stage when Offaly began to get motoring and he contributed to this. Rating – 6. Eoin Burke - Coolderry man Eoin Burke got his chance in the 56th minute and scored a good point, moving on some nice ball. Rating – 6.
