Road closures and parking restrictions in place for Tullamore for Saturday as fantastic Retro car rally hits the town

A series of road closures and parking restrictions have been announced for Tullamore for Saturday as the Retro Cannonball car rally hits the town.

It promises to draw a large crowd to the town with 100 retro cars involved in the rally and live entertainment on the street in Tullamore. With the weather set to be warm and sunny, it promises to be a memorable event. 

However to accommodate the event, road closures will start early on Saturday and will be in place throughout the day with a traffic management system in place. 

Overnight on Friday, Gardai are asking the public not to park in Kilbride Plaza. O Connor Square or Patrick Street in order to assist in the traffic management of the event on Saturday.

And on Saturday, the following is the traffic management plan for Tullamore.

9am - O’Connor Square closed to traffic at Tanyard lane and High Street entrances.

3pm - Music and entertainment starts

5pm - Road Closures Patrick Street, Columcille Street junction with Harbour Street, Bridge Street junction with Distillery Lane and High Street junction with Tara Street. Traffic can access Tara Street into Bridge Centre and on to Main Street by Water Lane

6pm Cars arrive in Tullamore
