Success for Offaly MMA fighters in England
TWO Offaly MMA fighters had wins at a recent tournament in Birmingham, England.
Fighting for the Eire Grapple Gym in Tullamore, Killurin man, Shane Dunne put on an absolute masterclass, showing major improvements in his striking game and adding new skills to his already dangerous MMA grappling game. His hard work and evolution as a fighter were clear for everyone to see.
Daingean local, Jay McCourtney put on a fantastic performance as well against an undefeated opponent. After receiving a cut over his eye from a clash of heads in the second round, Jay had to make some adjustments mid-fight but showed incredible heart, dug deep, and battled through adversity to get the win.
Nights like this show that you reap what you sow. Well done to both lads, all the coaches, and everyone at Éire Grapple.
