A MOTORIST was disqualified from holding a driving licence for four years during last week’s sitting of Tullamore District Court.

Piotr Osinski, 14 Scurragh, Birr, was charged with having no insurance and no driving licence on  June 15 2023  at   Harbour Road, Banagher.

Mr Osinski pleaded guilty to the offences and said he is currently in employment. The court was told that when the offences occurred he was in fact disqualified from driving, for a drugs driving offence.

Judge Andrew Cody said that, when sentencing, he had to bear in mind “that you were driving while in fact disqualified for a drugs driving offence.”

He convicted for both offences and sentenced to three months imprisonment, suspending for two years. He disqualified from driving for four years and fined €700.
