Sympathy extended to local families at council meeting in Tullamore

SYMPATHY was extended at the monthly meeting of Tullamore Municipal District to Councillor Tony McCormack on the recent passing of his father, also called Tony.

Cathaoirleach of Tullamore Municipal District, Councillor Neil Feighery said, '' By all accounts he was a great character, a great storyteller and poet. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.''

Councillor Tony McCormack thanked the Cathaoirleach on behalf of himself and his family.

''I would like to thank everyone here and the wider community for all their support and help over the period of my father's funeral. It's very heart-warming to see the amount of support we got over that period,'' said Cllr McCormack.

Tony McCormack Snr died on March 30, 2023. His funeral Mass took place in the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore, with burial afterwards in Clonminch Cemetery.

The Cathaoirleach also expressed his sympathy to the family of Bryanna Eberhard.

We are ''also thinking of our district engineer John Connelly on the very sad and untimely passing of his niece Bryanna Eberhard who was laid to rest today,'' said Cllr Feighery.

''We are thinking today of Bryanna's fiance James, her daughter Emi and mother Sheila and the extended Keane, Conroy and Galvin family at this very very sad time,'' he said.

Bryanna Eberhard died unexpectedly on Sunday April 9. Her funeral Mass took place at St Colmcille's Church in Durrow with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

All of the councillors and officials observed a minute's silence at the monthly meeting of Tullamore Municipal District.
