TERRIFYING: Driver arrested after car crashes into field in the Midlands

Gardai arrested a driver on suspicion of drink driving following a crash in Laoise on Sunday.

A car ended up in a ditch as a result of the single vehicle collision at Ballaghmore in Laois.

Gardai said that they were at the scene of a single vehicle road traffic collision adding that thankfully the driver walked away with only minor scratches after the car came to a stop on a ditch in a field.

The driver was arrested and brought to Portlaoise Garda Station where they failed the breath test.

Gardai said the driver has been charged and is due to appear in court at a later date.
