The cutting of the corn for forthcoming threshing festival in Offaly
The Black Bull Threshing will take place on Sunday August 23rd
ON a glorious July evening, a group gathered to watch the cutting of the corn for next month's Black Bull Threshing with a traditional binder.
Rev. Canon Arthur Minion was on the binder and was a real natural! Everyone got to chat and reminisce about times gone by, treasured memories and appreciate traditional methods of labour.
Philip Draper kindly donated the corn. Now, they look forward to the Threshing itself on Sunday August 23rd.
