Three men sent for trial after incident at Tullamore Hospital and halting site

Three men accused in connection with incidents at the Midlands Regional Hospital and an unofficial halting site in Tullamore have been sent for trial to the local Circuit Court.

Michael Ward (30), Richard Ward (27) and Sean Ward (25), all with different addresses at Kilcruttin halting site, are accused of committing violent disorder at Tullamore Hospital on March 21 last.

Michael Ward is also accused of producing a knife while committing or appearing to commit violent disorder, as is Sean Ward.

Sean Ward is further accused of offences at the unofficial halting site in Kilcruttin, violent disorder, producing a slash hook and causing criminal damage to Arthur McDonagh's caravan.

Books of evidence were served on the three accused by Garda Stacey O'Brien at Tullamore District Court last week and she said the DPP had consented for them to sent to Tullamore Circuit Court on October 7 next.

The men were represented in court by Aisling Maloney, solicitor, and legal aid was granted.

They were remanded on bail to appear in the Circuit Court by Judge Andrew Cody.
