A MAN with an address in Tullamore was disqualified from holding a driving licence for three years during last week’s Tullamore District Court sitting.

Grzegorz Duman,  Tinnycross, Tullamore was charged with drink driving on September 29,  2019  at  Tinnycross, Tullamore.

Sgt James O’Sullivan told the court that gardai stopped Mr Duman when they saw him making an incorrect driving procedure. He was taken to the Garda Station where a blood sample was taken which showed 208 micrograms of alcohol per 100  millilitres of blood.

The defending solicitor Donal Farrelly told the Judge that his client is 48 years of age, is Polish, has two children and works as a farm labourer. He asked the Judge to postpone the disqualification because it is  very busy  on the farm  at the  moment. He  added that Mr Duman has been living in Ireland for sixteen years.

Judge Andrew Cody commented that it was 'a significant reading'. Mr Farrelly pointed out that his client had had  a very good  record until now.

The Judge convicted and fine €300. He said the disqualification will come into effect from September 30.
